Alpine Rose Interiors is a design studio rooted in calm, nature-inspired spaces that feel both timeless and deeply personal. Founded by interior designer Gemma, the studio specialises in creating thoughtful interiors for private homes and hospitality spaces.
We recently had the privilege of working with Gemma to capture the story behind her brand and the philosophy that shapes her work. In this Client Spotlight, she shares the inspiration behind Alpine Rose Interiors, her design approach, and how nature continues to influence the spaces she creates.

Your work feels very calm and layered. How would you describe your design approach?
At the heart of my work is a love of calm, considered spaces that feel both beautiful and practical. I’m drawn to interiors that support everyday living - spaces that feel welcoming, grounded and easy to be in, rather than overly styled or trend-led. Nature and botanical influences play a big role in my design language, whether through colour palettes, materials or the way light and texture are layered. I aim to create interiors that feel balanced and timeless, with warmth and longevity built in from the start.
What led you to found Alpine Rose Interiors?
I noticed that many interiors looked impressive on the surface but didn’t always feel comfortable or personal. At the same time, I saw how overwhelmed clients often felt by the sheer number of design decisions involved in renovating a home. Alpine Rose Interiors was founded to simplify that process - offering clear, considered packages that help clients choose the right level of support for their needs, budget and lifestyle. I love taking the time to understand my clients’ own design tastes and translating that into spaces that genuinely reflect how they live. It’s incredibly rewarding to create interiors that feel right for the people who
use them every day.
Nature is a recurring theme in your work. Where does that come from?
I’ve always been deeply inspired by the natural world. My mother is from Switzerland and I’ve spent a lot of time there, immersed in the landscape. The lakes and mountains have always held a special place for me - it’s where I feel most calm and settled, and that sense of peace naturally feeds into my design work. In my own home, and across my projects, I’m drawn to natural palettes inspired by the landscape - blues, muted greens and warm, earthy tones. I love working with botanical colour stories, organic textures and natural materials that help bring a feeling of calm indoors. Nature has an innate ability to ground and restore us, and I try to reflect that in every space I design. Whether it’s a family home or a hotel setting, my aim is always to create interiors that feel connected to their surroundings and emotionally comforting - places where people can genuinely relax and feel at ease.
You work across residential and now hospitality design. How does your approach translate between the two?
While the settings are different, the principles remain the same. Both residential and hospitality design require a deep understanding of how people move through and experience a space. I’m currently working on a hotel project, which has been an exciting extension of the studio’s work - designing spaces that feel welcoming, characterful and memorable, while also being durable and functional. The focus is always on how a space feels, whether it’s a home someone returns to every day or a place they’re staying for a short time.
What types of clients do you typically work with?
On the residential side I tend to work on a lot of family homes and I love designing children’s bedrooms, they are so much fun! I understand the needs of family homes in terms of practicality and the demands for storage! My clients are people who value thoughtful design and a sense of ease. They often know how they want a space to feel, but need guidance bringing everything together - from layout and colour to finishes and furniture.
What do you think sets Alpine Rose Interiors apart?
The process is calm, collaborative and considered. I take time to understand how my clients live or use a space, and design around that - not the other way around. There’s a strong emphasis on longevity, subtlety and cohesion, which allows the finished interiors to feel effortless, even though every detail has been carefully thought through.
What’s next for Alpine Rose Interiors?
The studio is growing thoughtfully, with a continued focus on meaningful residential projects alongside an expanding hospitality portfolio. I’m excited to keep developing work that allows for depth, creativity and longevity - interiors that feel quietly confident, rooted in nature, and designed to be truly lived in.
